The promise in your ad should survive the click.

How to review the connection between an ad, a landing page and the next action without adding more complexity.

Look at the journey as one conversation

An ad introduces an idea and a reason to act. The landing page should make that idea easier to understand. When the page changes the subject, uses a different offer or asks for an unexpected commitment, the visitor has to do extra work.

Read the ad and the first screen of the destination page together. The audience, promise and next step should be recognizably connected. This is an editorial exercise before it is a design exercise.

Give the primary action a clear role

Decide what the page is helping a visitor do. A consultation page should explain what the conversation is for and what information is useful to bring. A product page needs a different sequence of questions and evidence.

Use the same wording for the primary action throughout the journey. Secondary links can help visitors who need more context, but they should not obscure the main path.

Review friction on a real device

Open the page on a small screen. Check whether the offer is readable, the form fields are understandable and the keyboard leaves enough space to complete the action. Look for layout shifts, clipped controls and unnecessarily long fields.

The confirmation state matters too. Tell people whether the enquiry was received and what happens next. If submission fails, preserve their input and give them a useful way to try again.

Test a specific hypothesis

Choose a question you can learn from. For example, does explaining the consultation before the form help visitors decide whether it is relevant? Keep a record of the change and the outcome you intend to observe.

Interpret conversion activity alongside lead quality. A simpler form may create more enquiries while changing their mix. The goal is a useful customer journey, not an isolated number.
